Another cracking interview, I really enjoy these Running Legend interviews.
"73 days, 3000 miles, you dont have to run very fast to do that, should be a piece of cake" - love it :)
"If in doubt, ease off" - wise words indeed.

Yep, another great interview, listened to during my 9mile run this morning - thought it was brillaint when BT said that he still wore the hat that he bought from Moscow during his 1st GB representation over 50yrs ago! What a character, although, having read one of his books, it would have been great to hear about his thoughts, in more detail, re marathon training

Really enjoying this interview as a breath of fresh air. Maybe makes me think that everything has been over-complicated. Loved the idea of just running in a vest to make you work harder just to keep warm. Also at a time when we are considering an extra £43M for the Olympic ceremony it was kind of nice to hear about an era when you had to buy your own tracksuit when selected by your country.

Have just taken delivery of Running over Forty - I could have bought it new, through Amazon, for £105 or used for less than £3. Really looking forward to starting it this evening

I love that the entire demise of endurance athletics has been attributed to the humble tee-shirt - not even the technical tee :-D
And I'll only have one mantra from now on: "who's gonna win? Bill's gonna win!" Bruce sounds like a guy who would never say "gonna", but it works for me.
Thanks Martin for another great interview.

Bruce came and gave a talk at our club a couple of years ago and was very good. He sells all the books himself direct, so no need to pay silly money for it new - http://www.tullohbooks.com

I didn't know that he sold the books direct himself - I would have I got it through him! When I did a search through Amazon it listed new from £103 (I seem to recall) and used for £2.89 (from Oxfam!). I now see that Amazon is only listing used copies - from £13.64, whch is more than buying it new direct from BT!!?
Started reading it last night - very interesting!

I did have to laugh at Martin trying to get a word in edgeways and failing time and time again. Who's going to talk? Bruce is going to talk. Who's going to talk? Bruce is going to talk. Who's going to talk? Bruce is going to talk. Who's going to talk? Bruce is going to talk. Who's going to talk? Bruce is going to talk.
