1:02:20 - Question of the Week

Thanks to Sharad Venugopal - On recovery weeks - is it still a recovery week if I reduce my overall mileage but keep my long run intact - i.e. take some miles off my midweek runs but continue to increase the distance of my Sunday long run? Or does recovery mean shortening my long run as well? Reason I ask is that with 10 weeks to go for a 50k, I'm increasingly nervous that my long runs aren't enough?

Thanks very much for answering my question guys - I wasn't expecting one (at least not one to be read out on the show) - its excellent advice and will see if i can incorporate it into my routine over the next two months.

You do an amazing job with the podcast and its definitely made a difference to the way i approach my running!

I am currently about 5 episodes behind and have listened to episode 29 recently where an interviewee who is running Nottingham said she was basing her marathon training plan on something lie a T&G training plan. I have struggled to find this online so I guess I have been looking for the wrong thing. Can you please let me know what training plan she was referring to? This will be my 6th marathon and I consistently follow the runners world program but feel it never hurts to read other options before I plan my next one.

I am trying to catch up with your podcasts before I run Berlin at the end of September because I always find them very useful and enjoyable.

    Simon,

The marathon plan is actually P&D: A book called Advanced Marathoning, by Pete Pfitzinger & Scott Douglas
