Just beginning my taper for the Shakespeare marathon on 08th May. This will be my first marathon, and I couldn't have got this far without Marathon talk. A big THANK YOU to all at your end for the weekly crutch. I will be running in memory of the lower league footballer Adam Stansfield who sadly died of bowel cancer last year. Adam was described by a colleague as a 'running machine' and it seemed the right way to commemorate his life. I always think of 'Stanno' when I need to zip up my man suit!I am fundraising for the Bobby Moore fund, the section of Cancer Research Uk that research into bowel cancer. Anybody who would like to sponsor me can do so at http://www.justgiving.com/Dave-Matthews0

    Thanks once again,
    Dave.

Just read Sophie Raworth's experience on her blog after getting the gist from you guys. Amazing perserverance and puts the discomfort a lot of the rest of us were going through into clear perspective.

One of the longest episodes yet, but it really flew by listening to it. Cheers guys.

after seeing the winners trophy for the London Marathon at the expo (what sort of mantle piece have elite marathon runners got?!?) I wondered what exactly do the winners / r up etc get - I'd imagine it's a bit more than new pair of trainers!
