Great (marathon) show again guys, as ever. 'Look' Deeks was good, very down to earth and interesting. Curious how the '80s stars are still involved and still hold so many records.

I note that you mention pacers again. Do they ever do relays for women pacers? Surely that would help bridge the gap for our fastest ladies .... I still can't get my head why a male pacer is bad, surely if you're doing the pace, you're doing the pace.

I did have a chuckle about the pre race rituals - I feel that turning up in matching pair of trainers is a must ... unfotunately I couldn't even do this for an off road 10.1 miler on Sunday ;-) Didn't realise until I was walking from the car park to race HQ! Still at least I managed to get in my 3 pre race wee trips and have learned not to get dressed in the dark.

Great call re winners of the week - the marshalls & spectators at the Snowdonia marathon were brilliant - the weather was much worse for those not running!

Nikki - interesting that you mention relay pacers, I'm sure I saw that happening at Frankfurt. Quite late in the race I thought I saw someone 'handover' to someone else up near the elite women... probably seeing things.

Tony is remarkable. I can't stop laughing. Brilliant. I'm even inspired to try for a hundred-mile week or something close to it, just like Tony. Does anyone know if he reached the 100 miles?
Great interview with Deke. He was my hero back in 80s when I first started marathoning.

Enjoyed the Rob de Castella interview as part of my NY preparation. He sometimes appears at the start of Australian marathons to rev up the runners.

really enjoyed the Deeks interview. Probably one of my favourites. The guys from that era and just before are so down to earth and normal sounding. No heirs or graces. Just good old fashioned hard work. brilliant.

Great show guys. Tony had me laughing out loud on the bus! I know he did it, he must have!

The de Castella interview was really great, too. I was wondering if there is a website for his indigenous runners project?
